A quick tip from me before I go to bed: tidy up your space before calling it a night. It can feel like the most unpleasant thing in the world at first, but nothing is worse than waking up to a mess. And on the flip side, nothing feels better than waking up to a clean, fresh, lovely space. So before you go to bed, just do the dishes. Really, it takes like five minutes to load and run the dishwasher. Also, wipe down the counters and stove after you cook. Don’t let the food and grease and whatever get stuck on there, it’ll just make it that much harder when you finally do clean. And wipe down your sink. Kitchen and bathroom. You don’t realize how dirty your sink is until you see it all clean and it feels like a whole new world. Take out the trash, so that in the morning, you can throw your avocado pits and coffee grounds into the bin in peace. Fluff the throw pillows on the coach. Sweep. Do the little things every single evening, and you won’t have to do the horrible several-hours-long cleaning sessions. And when you do the little things all the time, you realize how truly little they are, and cleaning is suddenly a whole lot less stressful. So, yeah. Clean up before bed. Wake up to a nice house. Value your space. Value yourself enough to believe that you deserve a nice space. It’s one of the kindest acts of self-care you can do for yourself, I swear. Seriously. Don’t just take my word for it. Do it.
